It tells the story of three very different families who compete to own the same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they think will solve all their problems. Denis Leary and Ray Romano both appeared in the Ice Age franchise (2002–present). I was surprised that the show was rated as low as it is, but it made a lot more sense after many critics explained that they didn't get past the first episode. The show is a mysterious, slow burn that may not be for everyone. I personally found it funny and entertaining, with a Liz Feldman-esque tone that I enjoy. I really like the cast, and everyone's performances. I was initially not sold on Ray Romano due to my own biases (I couldn't separate him from Everybody Loves Raymond for the life of me), but that wore off pretty quickly. Each character has their own subplot, creating a tangled web of chaos that gradually, though not completely, unravels. I was pretty engrossed in the story by the final episode, even though I had the main plot figured out pretty early on. I'm not mad about it, though. I want to see more of this show, and I really hope they get a second season. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly — here's the full lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
